Our firm was founded by professionals with backgrounds in public accounting, tax, and military intelligence. Nicole Vinayak, CPA
Managing Partner

Nicole is a licensed CPA in the state of California. She proudly graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a double major in Accounting and Clarinet Performance with a minor in Mathematics. In addition, she received the honor of Herz Gold Medalist, the university’s highest academic honor.
She began her career at KPMG, where she audited multi-million and multi-billion dollar companies in the healthcare industry. While she gained valuable technical expertise as an auditor, she discovered her true passion in working directly with people and small businesses.
Today, Nicole combines her public and private accounting experience to support clients in tax preparation, tax planning, and bookkeeping services. Her goal is simple: she helps you make sense of the numbers so you can focus on what truly matters. Known for her problem-solving mindset and approachable nature, Nicole brings clarity to even the most complex accounting challenges.
Shay Vinayak
Partner, Chief Operating Officer

Shay brings a decade of leadership and analytical experience from his service in the California Army National Guard. His background includes two combat deployments and multiple positions within the Intelligence Community. As a result, he excels at strategic thinking and calm decision-making.
As a Non-Commissioned Officer, Shay has led and managed squads of Soldiers in high-pressure environments, ensuring success in any task at hand. In addition, he holds an AAS in Intelligence Operations Studies and has completed multiple leadership schools.
At Vinayak CPA, Shay oversees firm operations, technology, and client experience. This means ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, so you have the best experience possible. His steady demeanor and problem-solving mindset make him a key part always supporting you.
Willow
Chief Snack Officer

As Vinayak CPA’s Chief Snack Officer, Willow takes her job very seriously. Her chief duties include supervising snack breaks, making special appearances on Teams meetings, and reminding everyone that balance is important (especially between work and treats).
When she’s not hard at work napping in the office or chasing squeaky toys, Willow can be found on (not-so-long) walks or scouting out her next snack opportunity. She’s the heart of the team and the unofficial morale booster for the firm.
